Business unit manager EmailGarage

The sales and marketing agency LUON is seeking a business unit manager to lead the next phase of development of our business unit EmailGarage. The growth will be driven by our state-of-the-art new application that hits the market during Q2 2007 after 2 years of extensive development.

EmailGarage has been at the forefront of email marketing technology since 2000. The service has now attracted - and successfully retained - over 500 businesses. Companies such as Unilever, Scandinavian Airlines, Sony, Mio-Tech, BuroMarket and Panda Software (to name but a few) have all come to rely upon the expertise of EmailGarage and the e-marketing campaign management tool.

The business unit EmailGarage has continued to deliver its unique blend of customer service, invaluable advice and well-researched e-marketing solutions. This year EmailGarage received the prestigious Q*For quality label for service and consultancy companies as well as a Seal of e-Excellence award at CeBIT 2007.

Already a successful business, the unit has very ambitious plans for international growth over the next three years.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to utilise their operational management skills in order to help drive this exciting business forward.

The successful candidate will be working closely with our business development management for lead and sales generation and with LUON's managing director to develop the business action plans and guard P&L.

The candidate should have experience of hands-on management within e-marketing services.

Purpose of the job

The role of the business unit manager is to ensure the successful management, planning, coordination and execution of all activities of EmailGarage. He/she will help to keep it growing, and to contribute to making it a European and global industry leader in the field of e-marketing solutions. The successful candidate will be working closely with our business development management for lead and sales generation and with LUON's managing director to develop the business action plans and guard P&L.


Key performance areas

The key performance areas of the EmailGarage business unit manager will be:
Short, medium and long-term action planning and implementation.
Operational organisation and efficiency.
Human Relationship Management, including resources planning, staff management & development.
Budgetary control and P&L to ensure that targets are met.
Establishing and nurturing of relationships with business partners.
Intensive co-operation with our business development management for customer acquisition, growth and retention.
Consistently supporting and delivering the e-customer dialogue beliefs.


Your skills and competencies
Well-developed managerial skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
Well-developed relationship management, influence and negotiation skills with the ability to leverage opportunities.
Knowledge and experience in business planning.
At least six years of management experience within an e-marketing environment.
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of an organisation.
Demonstrated ability to control budgets and co-ordinate financial requirements.
A passion for all things marketing, communication, internet and new technologies is a must.
